Today I want to speak about some important questions you need to be asking your real estate agent before you go to sell your home. You could potentially be setting yourself up for disaster if you fail to ask these questions, because sometimes the line between success and failure is thin. 

  1. What is your agent's specific marketing plan? This question alone will help to weed out at least 80% of the agents out there. Your agent needs to do much more than just list your home on the MLS and hope that it sells. Having an agent with a proven and repeatable system is key to selling a home.
  2. Is the marketing plan passive or active? Is your agent actively trying to bring buyers to your home? Simply listing your home and hoping that buyers find it is not enough. We like to go above and beyond for our clients, because we actively promote your property on multiple websites and we have great lead-generation software to bring the most qualified buyers to your door.
  3. Does your agent have experience? Rochester is a competitive marketplace, so your agent will need to be qualified to handle that pressure. We realize that everyone has to start somewhere, so if you're using a newer agent, at least ensure that they have an experienced partner on their team that they can turn to for help. It's well-known that a team of professionals will almost always net you more money for your home and actually sell it quicker than just a single agent. Why hire a single agent when you can hire 10 people for the same price?
